Financial Report (810 p.m.)
Mark Horrocks - It was noted by Mark H (SFTC Treasurer) that the new website played a significant role in drawing membership numbers up in 2021, as well as perhaps covid fatigue,
2021 Total Income, $4,833.00 vs. $2,805.00
2021 Expenses, $2,755.00
2021 Profit (Loss) $2,121.00
Larger expenses of note were electricity, a small legal bill of $237.00 and modest signage expenses, Current Reserve fund stands at $52,491.00 and is set aside for items such as resurfacing, (n.b. a full resurface could cost between $30,000.00 to $40,000.00) the SFTC's two (2) courts were completely re-built in 2013 for a total cost of approx. $80,000.00
Contributors to this expense were the City, The Trillium Foundation (Ontario) and the SFTC together. The adjacent basketball court was resurfaced at the same time as well.
Court Condition Report (816 p.m.)
Paul Jelec - John Griffins of the City attended the courts with Paul J last week, Since the more significant cracks may be a safety issue, the City has agreed to cover the cost of their repair, the minor cracks will have to be covered by the SFTC and this cost was estimated by the City to be $1,000.00 to $2,500.00 Signage will be posted to inform SFTC members of the timing of these repairs
Tennis Professional Report (819 p.m.)
Mike Pietras - it was reported by Mike P that even the smaller cracks might affect play, notably true ball bounce, it was noted that these smaller repairs could be delayed anticipating a larger scale court resurface or re-build, Other expenses would be SFTC windscreens as general wear and tear have damaged some, it was determined that four (4) new ones would be purchased on Mike P's advice, and plans to ask Babolat for support in this regard. Babolat has assisted with modest discounts in the past. Programs will begin once again this year, subject to club interest levels. These activities may include, Mens nights, Ladies nights, and youth tennis classes/instruction
